In an era when interiors compete with social media for attention, design often becomes scandalous, provocative, or extravagant. With such an approach, an interior can lose its deeper spirit — and we dared to take a different path.
В епоху, коли інтер’єри змагаються із соцмережами за увагу, дизайн часто стає скандальним, провокаційним або епатажним. За такого підходу інтер’єр може втратити свій глибинний дух, і ми наважилися піти іншим шляхом.
The entire interior was created around a central display of croissants. Everything revolves around them, while the croissants themselves rotate on stands right before our eyes. Here, they are treated as works of art or fine jewelry, which is why we even illuminated them with special lights designed for jewelry showcases.
Увесь інтер’єр створено навколо центральної вітрини з круасанами. Усе крутиться довкола них, а самі круасани обертаються на підставках просто на наших очах. Тут вони — як витвір мистецтва або ювелірний виріб, тож ми навіть підсвітили їх спеціальними світильниками для ювелірних вітрин.
We aimed to create a space built on a delicate selection of details, materials, and an aesthetic of beauty without ostentation. The hall’s area is only 20 square meters, so we avoided overloading it with unnecessary décor, as the main focus here is on the croissants and the people.
Ми прагнули створити простір, заснований на тонкому підборі деталей, матеріалів та естетиці краси без демонстративності. Площа залу становить лише 20 квадратних метрів, тож ми не перевантажували його зайвим декором, адже головна деталь тут — круасани та люди.
Wood, metal, and clay — all simple and natural materials. At the same time, we added a touch of refinement to the interior by arranging the veneer on the cabinets in a chessboard pattern, which gave the space an important feature of its character.
Дерево, метал і глина — усі матеріали прості й натуральні. Водночас ми постаралися додати інтер’єру трохи вишуканості, виконавши шахове укладання шпону на тумбах, що надало простору важливу рису його образу.
Since there had already been a café in this location, we didn’t change the layout or the flooring — we only applied new wall finishes and replaced the lighting with our custom-designed fixtures created from original sketches.
Оскільки на цьому місці раніше вже було кафе, ми не змінювали ані планування, ані покриття підлоги, а лише нанесли нове оздоблення на стіни та замінили освітлення на наші світильники, створені за авторськими ескізами.
The chairs were found at a flea market and restored, giving them another generation of life. The tables, sofas, counters, and display cases were custom-made.
Стільці знайдені на барахолці та відреставровані, що продовжило їхнє життя ще на одне покоління. Столики, дивани, стійки та вітрини виготовлені на замовлення.
The café is located next to a small square, and together with the interior, it works equally well for a morning visit or an evening gathering.
Кафе розташоване поруч із невеликим сквером і разом з інтер’єром дозволило зробити його комфортним як для ранкового, так і для вечірнього формату.
